A General Framework for Intersection Traffic Control With Backpressure Routing

چکیده

Traffic congestion has long been a worldwide difficult problem in metropolitan transportation networks, incurring tremendous time waste and exhaust pollution. Extensive efforts have made to address this problem, among which traffic control at intersections is known be especially crucial while challenging. Also, it helpful the recent advent of autopilot technologies by enhancing schedule accuracy reducing infrastructure cost. In practice, however, existing researches can hardly work well pervasive manner since they are essentially limited two ideal assumptions: 1) each intersection comprises four ways; 2) way homogeneously composed lanes. Through an in-depth examination their basic models, we find that two-fold assumptions largely compelled surprisingly high complexity converting practical topology into theoretical conflict graph. Moreover, works seldom consider modeling complex scene cooperative multiply intersections. Driven above understandings, our first effort towards general framework (for handling multiple-way heterogeneous intersections) carefully transform homomorphic, regular graph suited further processing with affordable complexity. Besides, maximum weight independent set (MWIS) based approach proposed minimize average waiting vehicles isolated intersection. addition, apply backpressure-based algorithm optimize global whole road network. Simulation results demonstrated achieved merely 80 seconds traditional light reaches 370 seconds.

Intersection Simulation System Based on Traffic Flow Control Framework

This paper proposes the Intersection Simulation System which can dynamically manage the real-time traffic flow for each section from the intersections by referring to the traffic information database. This system consists of the hierarchical 3 layers. The lower layer is the physical layer where the traffic information is acquired on an actual road. The middle layer, which is the core of this sy...

A Framework for Routing Assisted Traffic Monitoring

Monitoring transit traffic at one or more points in a network is of interest to network operators for reasons of traffic accounting, debugging or troubleshooting, forensics, and traffic engineering. Previous research in the area has focused on deriving a placement of monitors across the network toward the end of maximizing the monitoring utility of the network operator for a given traffic routi...

Enhancing Traffic Intersection Control with Intelligent Objects

Traffic control is an old and ever growing problem in cities throughout the world. Within many cities, intersections represent bottlenecks in the flow of traffic. Evaluating intersections control is complex and difficult. Given this, intersection management is both costly and time consuming. This paper considers the potential benefits of enhancing the traffic intersection with the use of intell...

GreenWave distributed traffic intersection control

This demonstration proposal is for a distributed traffic intersection traffic-light control called GreenWave. The solution couples camera sensors with a novel collaborative multiagent goaloriented control algorithm to outperform both conventional and theoretical approaches. The system is designed for real use, although simulated traffic data will be used for the demonstration.

A New Framework for Secure Routing in VANET

Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks can enhance road safety and enable drivers to avoid different threats. Safety applications, mobile commerce, and other information services are among different available services that are affected by dynamic topology, vehicle’s speed and node misbehaving. Dynamic topology makes the route unstable and unreliable. So, improving the throughput and performance of VANET thr...
